Obituary for Catino C. Samperi

Catino "Charlie" Samperi, Beloved father, brother and grandfather of Pipersville, PA, formerly of Mayfield, NY passed away Saturday April 18th after a brief stay at Doylestown Hospital. He was 85.

Born July 31, 1934 in Johnstown NY to Anthony and Ninfa (Pollina) Samperi. Charlie is survived by his son Shawn Samperi and his wife Lisa, his loving grandsons Joseph and Nicholas Samperi, all of Pipersville PA; his brother Anthony Samperi and his wife Marilyn, of Johnstown NY, and four nieces and nephews.

He lived most of his life in the Fulton Co area, attended Johnstown High School and worked at Crown Leather until his retirement. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing throughout the Adirondacks as well as WY, MT, AK and Canada. Later in life he obtained his private pilots licence and flew out of Fulton Co Airport to many locations around the country, including numerous trips to the Oshkosh Air Show in WI. Charlie was a member of the Johnstown Moose #1185 and the Pine Tree Rifle Club.

A cremation at Varcoe-Thomas of Doylestown will take place April 22 and final arrangements will be determined at a later date.

The family is grateful for all the prayers and condolences and ask that in lieu of flowers a charitable tribute gift in Catino's name be made to the Doylestown Health Foundation whose staff went above and beyond, including his nurses using their own personal phones to FaceTime with the family during these extremely difficult times (doylestownhealthfoundation.org/help/funds).

He will be greatly missed, but lived a full and extraordinary life.

His last words of wisdom..."Don't take things so seriously and Live your life to the fullest" God Bless.
