Obituary for Charlene T. Williams
Charlene T. Williams of Doylestown, PA passed away at Doylestown Hospital on Monday, March 2, 2020. She was 70.
Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late John and Lieselotte (Foerster) Hambling, she resided in Wrightstown, PA, before moving to Doylestown, PA in 2006. When she was 5 years old her family moved to Wrightstown where she grew up and stayed to raise her own family. Her family became members of Redeemer Luther Church in Penndel when she was young and she continued to be an active long time member. Her children were very active in Sunday school and Youth Group when they were growing up. Many memories were made there.
Charlene attended Council Rock School District and was very active in extra circular activities. She excelled at her schooling. After graduating High School she attended Bucks County Community College and obtained her nursing degree. She moved on to become a Registered Nurse for over 20 years, and worked at Briarleaf Nursing Home. She was a devoted caring nurse and felt great empathy for all her patients. She always made sure their needs were taken care of and all her patients were treated with her love.
She adored spending time with her family and friends. Charlene was known for her compassionate heart and great sense of humor which endeared her to everyone she came in contact with. She had many friends of many ages. She was a very loyal friend and was always willing to help if she could.
When she was not working or raising her family she enjoyed volunteering at her daughters school and after school clubs. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and ceramics and loved that these hobbies were shared with her daughters.
Charlene taught her daughters many things as young kids that hold true in them today; good manners, respect and sound moral values. These values have molded who they are and they both thank her so very much.
Charlene was the beloved wife to the late Robert Williams; devoted mother of Monica Hamer (Scott) and Charlene Williams (Partner John Seida); loving sister of the late Jerry Hambling; and cherished grandmother of Hazel Seida.
Charlene was so incredibly proud to be a grandmother and loved Hazel dearly. She couldn’t help but share her love with her friends by sharing pictures and stories and speaking of her often.
Her greatest quality was to encourage her family to make the best of everything and to face problems head on. Charlene, was a warm, compassionate woman who always went out of her way to help others, no matter what.
Sadly, Charlene struggled with mental illness for a large portion of her life. Her family asks for her not be remembered when she was too sick to care for herself. Her family asks you to not judge Charlene by the chapter of her story you walked in on. Her illness did not define her. Her strength and courage does.
It is with heavy hearts and tears in our eyes that it’s time to lay Charlene to rest and say our last goodbyes. Charlene is at peace now and can now rest. Her loved ones made sure of this. She will be missed by all, but her strength and love will live on in us all forever.
A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 246 Hulmeville Avenue, Penndel, PA 19047, on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10:00am followed by a luncheon at the Church.
The burial services will be private.
