Obituary for Marie T. Lapworth
Marie Lapworth passed away peacefully on February 22nd, 2020 with her 2 loving daughters and loving son by her side. Marie grew up for the majority of her life in Chestnut Hill, PA where she developed a passion for teaching children. She grew her passion into a phenomenally successful day care center which she owned and operated in Chestnut Hill for over 35 years.
Marie lived a full life. Along with her passion for teaching, she was inspired to travel the world and was blessed to visit over 25 countries where she witnessed everything from the running of the bulls in Spain to gathering water from Lourdes to crossing the barren deserts of Turkey on a camel in search of another adventure. Oh the stories she shared.
One of Marie’s greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren Jamie, Jill, Carlin and Zander. She loved talking with them about their daily activities and would treat them to special trinkets and gifts that she would get along the way. She was so proud of her grand kids.
Lastly, the bond Marie had with her 3 children (Tara Szilagyi, Carrie O’Donnell and Lance Lapworth) was so incredibly strong it’s barely describable. Mom sacrificed everything to provide the very best for her children throughout their entire life. The love and dedication to her children was core to who she was as a person and how she lived her life. Mom will be dearly missed and their won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t remember the love she had for us and the sacrifices she made.
