Obituary for Arlene Y. Ferguson

Arlene Y. Ferguson of Doylestown, PA passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was 77.

Born in Milwaukee, WI to the late Eldon and Bernice (Bowen) Vasko, Arlene resided in High Point, NC before moving to Doylestown, PA in 1977.

She was formerly employed as an assistant engineer with AT&T for 30 years and also the Doylestown Women’s Health Center. Arlene was an active member of the Village Improvement Association (VIA) serving on the Floral Arts Committee and the Scrapbook Committee. She was also a member of the Doylestown Nature Club and served as Hospitality Chairperson and contributed to many aspects of the club. Arlene attended Trinity Episcopal Church of Buckingham, enjoyed gardening and was a world-class bowler.

She was the beloved wife of the late William Ferguson; dear sister of Ronald Vasko and wife Barbara; loving niece of Jean Vasko; cherished cousin of Barbara Botto; devoted aunt of Kristine Vasko and Kimberly Reitman; grandaunt of Christian, Alyssa and Brady Reitman; and step-grandaunt of Brittany Lueck-Reitman; great-grandaunt of Carter; also survived by her dear friends Cary Dey, Donna Berger, and Donna Oliver-Knox.

A memorial luncheon will be held at the Doylestown Country Club, 20 Country Lane, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Friday, October 14th at 12 Noon.

Cremation services were private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, Inc., 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Village Improvement Association, 595 W. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 or The Doylestown Nature Club, PO Box 467, Doylestown, PA 18901.
